Acne is a frequent skin condition that a majority of people suffer from. The causes for acne development are numerous and it is often difficult clearly identify the problem. Constant skin care regardless of gender is essential for reducing the likelihood of acne formation.

Acne develops as an after effect of shaving and is not dark spots or pimples in the typical sense. Most commonly acne develops after damage to the skin from shaving or bumps that develop around the area that gets infected. It is recommended not to scratch or pick on the pimples since it would make the skin condition worse and lead to permanent scarring.

There are some useful ways to abate the problem which include firstly the use of hydro cortisone cream. It is a topical steroid that is generally used for reduction of inflammation. It is advised that the cream be applied as two kinds of treatments for a few days for two weeks to get the best results. Another option is to rub alcohol around the affected area which makes kills the bacteria and makes the affected area antiseptic. Usually treatments are available to prevent the skin condition to occur in the first place however rubbing alcohol is effective even after the pimples appear on the skin. It generally works by making the outer layer of the skin dry allowing easy peel off of the dead skin while at the same time allowing cell growth.

Home remedies are another cost effective as well as less painful alternative for getting rid of the acne. The best remedy according to health experts is witch hazel for acne that develops after shaving. The affected area should be exfoliated with either a wash cloth or a mild scrub, after this non comedogenic aloe vera product should be applied to heal the skin.

In case the acne becomes severe it is recommended that a dermatologist is consulted so that the right form of treatment can be prescribed accordingly.
