How to Get Rid of Pimples in a Couple of Hours
The tiny holes in your skin, your pores, produce an oil called sebum to keep your skin moisturized. When a pore becomes clogged with oil and bacteria, a pimple erupts. The American Academy of Dermatology does not typically recommend picking, popping or squeezing pimples as it may cause scarring. But Dr. Michael Roizen, Cleveland Clinic's chief wellness officer and co-author of "You: The Owner's Manual," advises popping your pimples in a certain manner to speed healing in as quickly as a couple of hours. When popped properly, the pimple will drain and not damage surrounding skin, which worsens the appearance of the affected area and may cause further infection.
Place a needle in either alcohol or boiling water for a few seconds to sterilize it.
Remove the needle from the alcohol or water.
Insert the needle in one end of the top of your pimple and slide it through to the other side, keeping the needle parallel to your skin.
Lift the needle up, pulling it away from the skin.
Wipe away any pus or blood that releases from the pimple to prevent spreading infection.
Wash the area carefully with a gentle cleanser. Avoid using facial scrubs, masks or astringents. Use your hands to wash the area instead of a washcloth, which may irritate skin.
Keep your hands away from your face. Don't touch the affected area. Keep your skin clear of substances such as makeup, moisturizer or sunscreen as long as possible. Keep your hair away from your face, and avoid touching objects such as phones to your face. Avoid wearing tight clothing or hats around the affected area.
Try different substances that some claim have worked for them. While home pimple remedies are unproven, you may experience results. Dab a bit of calamine lotion on the pimple and leave it on the skin for up to two hours. Wash it off to reveal results. Another remedy requires you to mix equal portions of milk and ground nutmeg. Apply to your pimples. Wash off after two hours.
