Emergency Room vs. Urgent Care
If you are experiencing any of the following conditions, call 911 or go straight to an emergency room: life threatening symptoms, experiencing a heart attack or stroke, have open fractures, severe bleeding or blood loss, extreme abdominal pain, weakness or numbness on one side of the body, chest pain, loss of consciousness, head injury or any other major trauma.
Take time to locate the nearest urgent care facility and map out directions to the center prior to needing care. Keep the phone number and directions in an accessible area of your home and office. Call ahead to ascertain whether they accept your insurance, as well as confirming that they offer the care you're in need of.
