Easy skin care for women is found no further than the kitchen or local grocery store. Most ingredients needed for effective and superb skincare are staples in the majority of homes. Natural skin care is an inexpensive way to achieve beautiful skin without the hidden chemicals and preservatives found in over-the-counter products and even prescription medications. Natural ingredients for skin care have been used throughout the ages by legendary beauties, and the idea of homemade beauty products is making a strong comeback with women today.

Step 1

Add natural ingredients to 1/2 cup of mild, liquid facial cleanser (generic brand is fine) to care for your specific skin type. One-quarter cup of honey is good for acne-prone skin because it contains potassium, which naturally kills bacteria. Adding 2 tbsp. of olive oil to 1/2 cup of liquid soap is ideal for dry and aging skin because it has vitamin E and other nutrients that soften dry skin and prevent fine lines and wrinkles.

Step 2

Use cucumber slices on oily skin. Cut cucumbers in circular slices and leave them in the refrigerator. After cleansing the face, wipe a cucumber slice over the skin for a natural toning and pore-refining effect. Rinse after 5 minutes. Store in an airtight jar and discard after 1 week.

Step 3

Add 1 tbsp. of lemon juice to the jar of cucumbers for added skin-clarifying benefits. Citric acid found in lemons is naturally antiseptic to further purify the skin and is a natural alpha hydroxy acid, which prevents premature aging. The vitamin C in lemons fights cell oxidation for further skin clarity and preservation.

Step 4

Create an intensive night treatment by combining vitamin E oil with either olive oil or jojoba oil. Olive oil combined with three drops of vitamin E oil smoothed over the face before bed provides an anti-aging and moisture-enriched facial treatment. Jojoba oil mixed with three drops of vitamin E oil helps to balance skin's moisture production and heal skin damage.

Step 5

Treat dry hands, heels, knees and elbows with a petroleum jelly and vitamin E oil mixture. Add 1 1/2 tbsp. of pure vitamin E oil in 1/2 cup of petroleum jelly. Stir well. Apply to extra dry areas every morning and night to soften skin. This solution is meant for nonporous areas, so do not apply it to the face.
