Natural Pore Reduction for the Face

Natural Pore Reduction for the Face Natural Pore Reduction for the Face

Overview

Your skin pores' size depends on your skin type, and can vary from barely visible pores common in dry skin to enlarged pores typical in oily skin. Enlarged pores can clog with oil, dead skin cells and debris, and lead to blackheads and pimples. Reducing pore size can decrease the chances of this happening, but commercially available products include ingredients that may irritate your skin. Natural methods of pore reduction can be an effective and gentler way to decrease the size of skin pores and prevent clogging.

Ice Cubes

Step 1

Wash your face with lukewarm water. Hot water will open pores even further, while lukewarm to cool water will shrink facial pores.

Step 2

Use a rose-based toner after washing your face, recommends the website Free Makeup Tips. Toning liquids can remove any remaining traces of dirt or oil, and help close pores (see Section 2).

Step 3

Place a few ice cubes in a cotton cloth and press it against your face. In addition to temporarily reducing the size of skin pores, this can also temporarily decrease oil production.

Rosewater Toner

Step 1

Combine rose petals or hips and water in a bowl, and let stand for 30 minutes.

Step 2

Strain the mixture into a sterile jar using cheesecloth or a strainer.

Step 3

Place the rosewater toner in the refrigerator and use within seven to 10 days.

Cucumber and Lemon Juice Treatment

Step 1

Mash the cucumber in a bowl.

Step 2

Add the lemon juice and rosewater to the mashed cucumber and mix to create a paste.

Step 3

Spread the paste between two layers of cotton cloth and place it on your face. Leave the cloth on your face for 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 4

Wash your face.

Buttermilk and Salt Treatment

Step 1

Combine buttermilk and salt until it forms a paste.

Step 2

Massage into the areas on your face that display enlarged pores.

Step 3

Rinse using warm water. Repeat this procedure two or three times each week.

Clay Facial Mask

Step 1

Combine all ingredients to form a paste. If your skin is prone to acne, adding a few drops of tea tree oil can promote healing, according to the website Natural Skincare Secrets.

Step 2

Spread the paste evenly over your face and leave it there for 10 to 15 minutes. As the clay dries, it removes oil and dirt from your skin as well as tightens skin and pores.

Step 3

Remove the dried paste using a washcloth and lukewarm water.
