How to Cover Large Pores
Overview
Foundation settles into large pores, making them appear even larger. The solution to covering large pores is to use a translucent silicone primer as a base under a light application of foundation. The translucent silicone primer base settles inside the pores and evens out the skin's surface, so pores are minimized when foundation is applied.
Step 1
Cleanse skin with an exfoliating scrub to remove excess sebum from pores.
Step 2
Apply a thin layer of noncomedogenic moisturizer to your skin. Wait five minutes for the moisturizer to absorb into the skin.
Step 3
Smooth a translucent silicone-based cosmetic primer over the entire face. Wait two minutes for the primer to dry.
Step 4
Apply a noncomedogenic foundation to your skin. To apply the foundation, pour a dime size amount of the foundation onto a working surface (back of your hand, paper towel, ceramic dish). Lightly pat a foundation cosmetic applicator sponge into the foundation. Brush the sponge against your skin in an upward motion to blend the foundation into your skin. Apply the foundation sparingly for a natural look.
Step 5
Sweep a noncomedogenic loose translucent face powder onto your face, using a powder brush.
