How to Get Rid of Brown Spots on Your Knees
Let's face it, there is nothing pretty about brown spots on your knees. Your knees are one of the hardest-working areas in your body and constant contact with clothing and surfaces can leave the skin on your knees overly dry. Over time the dry, dead skin cells build up and darken. Luckily, this common cosmetic malady can be easily treated, corrected and controlled with simple ingredients found in your own home.
Mix coconut oil and lemon juice in a small bowl.
Apply the mixture to your knees and allow it to set for 10 to 15 minutes. Leaving the mixture on will allow the acid of the lemon juice to start breaking down the dead skin cells.
Remove the mixture with the clean towel soaked in warm water.
Apply an exfoliating scrub to remove the dead skin cells.
Apply a nutrient-rich moisturizer to replace the moisture you have just removed from your skin. Repeat this process once a day to break down the dead skin and make way for new, lighter skin cells.
