Stretch marks are complained about by both men and women. Though they occur at any time and on many places on the body, stretch marks often plague pregnant women or those going through growth spurts. Stretch marks also occur as a result of rapid weight gain or loss. Areas they typically appear include the thighs, breasts, midsections arms and lower back. Though you can't eliminate stretch marks entirely without the help of surgery, it's possible to minimize their appearance with natural products such as beeswax.

Beeswax moisturizes the skin wherever it's applied, says Frostburg State University. This keeps your skin soft and supple in addition to preventing unwanted stretch marks. Moisturized skin is often more gentle to the touch and looks healthier.

Because beeswax is nutrient-rich, it creates a protective barrier over the skin. According to Absolute Astronomy, beeswax found in creams is likened to other barrier creams such as petroleum jelly or other oil-based lotions. Because of its barrier properties, it can add extra protection from the sun's UV rays when paired with sunscreen and also wards off free radicals.

Unlike some substances applied to the skin, beeswax is not known to provoke allergic reactions, says the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Beeswax is natural and it doesn't have a strong scent, making it more pleasant and less obtrusive when applied topically.

The body's temperature makes the beeswax melt slightly. After it's warmed up, it becomes much more elastic. This allows it to mold and form easily to the skin for a hassle-free application. Because you'll need to apply the cream on your skin regularly to prevent stretch marks, you'll want something that's easy to apply.
