Overview

Teenagers are often plagued with facial breakouts, which erupt because hormones are surging through the body more rapidly. Because younger skin can be more sensitive than older skin, it is important to apply facial products that are formulated for sensitive skin types, yet are effective enough to clear the skin completely. By following a regular skin care routine that cleanses, medicates and moisturizes the skin properly, teenage acne can be cleared easily without causing irritation.

Step 1

Wash your skin with a gentle soap designed for sensitive skin. Splash water onto your skin, and lather up your hands with the soap. Spread the lather around your skin for one minute, then rinse it off with warm water. Repeat twice per day.

Step 2

Kill off acne-causing bacteria with a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide cream. Squeeze a pea-sized amount of the cream onto your fingers, and gently smooth it onto your face. Continue to smooth it around your skin until it has been absorbed. Repeat twice per day after cleansing your skin.

Step 3

Moisturize your skin with a non-comedogenic oil, such as jojoba oil. Pour 3 to 4 drops of jojoba oil into the palm of your hand, and rub your hands together to evenly distribute the oils evenly between them. Pat the oil onto your face, covering your skin with a thin layer. Repeat twice per day after medicating your skin with benzoyl peroxide cream.
