Millions of teens and adults suffer from pimples. Eight million people in the U.S. see the dermatologist for pimples and acne every year, spending millions of dollars on over-the-counter products, skin creams and medicine. However, there are many natural vitamins that will get rid of pimples. Vitamins are natural and much cheaper than visiting the doctor. By taking the right combination and amount of vitamins, you can get rid of pimples.

Step 1

Take vitamin D. Vitamin D is found in sunlight. The sun's ultraviolet rays convert to vitamin D, which helps you absorb calcium. If you are suffering from pimples, you are lacking enough vitamin D. However, be careful not to get too much sun. The more sun you get, the less vitamin D your skin absorbs. That's because your skin gets thicker when exposed to too much sun.

Step 2

Take vitamin E. Vitamin E is essential to getting rid of pimples because vitamin E contains an antioxidant that prevents saturated fats from breaking down and combining with other toxins that could hurt your skin. Vitamin E unites with oxygen, making the red blood cells fill with pure oxygen that all your organs need. Vitamin E can prevent scarring from pimples on your face and the rest of your body. Doctors recommend taking 200 to 400 IU's of vitamin E per day. The Mayo Clinic says vitamin E is very effective in getting rid of pimples.

Step 3

Take vitamin B5, also known as pantothenic acid. Vitamin B5 reduces facial oil and the formation of blackheads. Vitamin B5 also helps your nerves function properly. This is important because stress contributes to pimples. Vitamin B5 works by slowing down the overproduction of oil, which is the main cause of pimples. In a study done in 1995 by Dr. Lit-Hung Leung at Hong Kong Central Hospital and published in the Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine, 45 males and 55 females were given 10-20 g of vitamin B5 daily. This is 100,000 to 200,000 times the percentage rate the USDA recommends you take daily. The results showed 100 percent acne-free skin in just a few weeks. The USDA recommends 150 mg. per day. See your doctor before you take a higher dosage like the one prescribed in Dr. Leung's study.

Step 4

Take vitamin A. Vitamin A will help strengthen your skin's protective layer, which can help prevent pimples. Vitamin A will also get rid of toxins in your body, which help pimples form. Vitamin A is essential to the growth of new skin, and may help the lesions from acne heal faster. Beta-carotene is the best form of vitamin A to take. Doctors recommend 300,000 IU's per day.
