How to Get Rid of Forehead Pimples

How to Get Rid of Forehead Pimples

Overview

Pimples can pop up anywhere on the skin but are most commonly found on the areas of the face that have been in contact with the hands or the hair, which contain higher levels of oil and bacteria. For this reason, the forehead tends to have more acne breakouts than other areas of the face. To get rid of forehead pimples and to keep the area clear, it is important to follow a routine that cleanses the skin gently, medicates the skin correctly and moisturizes the skin properly.

Step 1

Wash the forehead with a soap designed for sensitive skin types. Wet the skin well with water and lather the hands with a sensitive skin soap. Apply the lather to the skin, spreading it around gently and then rinse off the lather with water. The face should never be scrubbed or rubbed when it is cleansed, which can exacerbate acne. A soap formulated for sensitive skin will clean the skin without irritating it with the harsh chemicals found in many standard soaps. Clean the skin twice per day with a sensitive skin soap.

Step 2

Medicate the skin around the forehead with a 2.5 percent concentration benzoyl peroxide cream. Spread an amount of cream roughly the size of a large pea onto the forehead after cleansing. Glide the fingers around the face until it has been absorbed into the skin. Benzoyl peroxide creams that are too high in concentration can cause the skin to peel, burn and to become red. Using a 2.5 percent benzoyl peroxide cream will clear acne on the forehead without irritating or inflaming the skin. Use the 2.5 percent benzoyl peroxide on the skin twice per day after cleansing.

Step 3

Moisturize the skin around the forehead using an oil-free moisturizer designed for sensitive skin types. Spread a dime-sized amount of moisturizer onto the face, and use the fingers to massage it gently into the skin. Using an oil-free moisturizer that is also designed for sensitive skin types will allow the skin to become hydrated properly, without the pores becoming clogged or the skin becoming irritated. Always apply a moisturizer to the skin twice per day after using benzoyl peroxide cream, which can be drying at any concentration.
