How to Get Rid of Acne on Your Cheeks
Acne consists of whiteheads, blackheads, papules, pustules and cysts commonly found on areas of the skin that have the most oil glands, including the face, shoulders, back, neck and chest. It is believed to be related to hormone production, which causes the sebaceous glands to overproduce sebum. Prevention and treatments of acne should include gentle exfoliation, opening of the pores and dissolving of the excess oils. Aggressive scrubbing and harsh chemicals from soaps and creams can irritate skin and cause additional breakouts. Picking and squeezing can lead to permanent scarring.
Pour boiling water into a large heat-safe bowl. Add tea tree oil and cover the bowl and your head with a towel to form a tent. Keep your face at least three to four inches from the water and steam your skin for 10 minutes to open pores and dissolve excess oils.
Dry your face thoroughly and let your skin cool down for about five minutes.
Place ground almonds in your hand and apply to your face. Rub on your skin gently and in a circular motion to remove dead skin cells. Rinse all almond powder off using warm water. Dry your skin completely.
Place clay in small bowl and add water, 1 tsp. at a time, until a thick paste is achieved. Spread the clay on your face, avoiding the eye area. Let clay dry at least 10 minutes to pull out excess oils and impurities. Rinse off using warm water then wash using a very mild soap. Dry your face thoroughly.
Apply lavender oil directly onto skin, but use it sparingly. Avoid the eye area and nasal membranes.
