How to Cure Blackheads in the Ear
Overview
Blackheads occur when your pores are clogged with oil, dirt and dead skin cells. Although everyone is prone to blackheads, they occur most often in women with oily skin. Blackheads can form on virtually any part of your body, including your ears. Removal from your ears can be more challenging, as the blackheads are not as visible as other body parts. Still, there are a few solutions to help prevent and treat this nuisance in your ear.
Step 1
Apply a warm, damp cloth to your ear while standing up. This will help loosen the blackheads by pushing them to the surface of your skin for easier removal. Leave the cloth on for up to 10 minutes.
Step 2
Use a cotton swab to apply rubbing alcohol to the blackhead. Press gently with your fingertips to extract the blackhead.
Step 3
Apply tea tree oil with a cotton ball to the affected area and leave on overnight, if the rubbing alcohol does not work. According to HealthyIsGood.com, tea tree oil can help loosen impurities in your pores. Apply rubbing alcohol again the next morning.
Step 4
Extract the blackhead using the tip of a bobby pin. Using light pressure, try scooping the blackhead out. Apply rubbing alcohol to avoid infection and keep bacteria from spreading.
Step 5
Use an over-the-counter acne treatment gel. HealingNaturalRemedies.com recommends a product that contains benzoyl peroxide. Apply a thin layer once or twice a day to the affected area. Use only if you have multiple blackheads or if you are prone to breakouts in the ear.
