Homemade Remedy to Get Rid of Black Heads
Black heads occur when the hair follicles become clogged with bacteria, dirt, oil and dead skin cells. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, black heads and other blemishes related to acne occur most frequently in teens, although they typically subside by age 30. Regardless of your age, however, a homemade remedy may be able to get rid of black heads. Herbal steam cleansers, made with hot water and astringent herbs, can penetrate deep within the pores and may be able to facilitate the removal of black heads.
Bring the spring or distilled water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat. Add the dried yarrow, turn off the heat, cover and allow the mixture to stand for about 10 minutes.
Strain the herbs from the liquid, and transfer the resulting herbal tea to a large heat-proof bowl. Add the apple cider vinegar, and stir well to combine.
Dab almond oil onto your black heads. Soak a clean cotton towel in the hot tea and vinegar mixture, and wring out as much excess moisture as possible.
Apply the hot towel as a compress to the affected areas, leaving it on until it cools completely. Soak the towel in the liquid again and reapply, continuing several times until the herbal liquid is no longer warm.
Gently push out the black heads using a clean tissue. They should be easy to remove after the herbal steam treatment. If not, repeat the treatment the following day until the black heads come out of the pores easily.
