A Review of the Isolaz Acne Treatment
Overview
Isolaz is an FDA-approved clinical light skin treatment designed to treat acne and reduce skin redness without the use of topical gels or oral treatments.
Function
Isolaz uses photopneumatics, a combination light and vacuum treatment, to remove blockages from pores and reduce acne. Isolaz treatments must be performed by specially trained, licensed physicians.
Process
In the Isolaz treatment process, a practitioner uses a specialized wand to pulse light over affected areas. Typically, facial treatments take 15 to 20 minutes to perform, while treatments on the body take less than 30.
Eligibility
According to Isolaz's website, Isolaz treatments can be performed safely on all skin types, and may be appropriate for anyone with mild to severe pustular acne, meaning common pimples, and comedonal acne, meaning blackheads and whiteheads.
Indications
Four to six treatments are generally recommended, but this may vary depending on the severity of the case and the acne type.
Side Effects
The developers of Isolaz claim that side effects from the treatment are minimal, and that the process is painless and requires no downtime.
