Back Acne Skin Treatment
Acne can appear anywhere on the body, including the back area. Treating back acne can be difficult due to its location, causing many people unnecessary suffering. Back acne can be effectively treated and eliminated by knowing which treatments are the most effective and the tricks that will help you reach the affected area.
Back acne can have many causes, the most common of which include the over production of oils in your skin, and constant contact with clothing. Back acne can appear on your skin even if your face and chest are not affected.
There are many acne treatments which can be used on the back to eliminate blemishes. The most effective treatments include benzoyl peroxide cream, tea tree oil and salicylic acid gel. If using benzoyl peroxide cream, a quarter-sized amount can be gently smoothed onto the back twice per day. If using tea tree oil, it must be diluted in water before application, which is easily done by pouring 10 drops of tea tree oil onto a cotton pad and drizzling 1 tsp. of water onto it. Tea tree oil can be used up to three times per day. If using salicylic acid gel, a quarter-sized amount can be smoothed onto your back twice per day.
Acne treatment creams, oils, and gels can be difficult to apply to the back area. Luckily, this can be easily done by utilizing a back scratcher. A small washcloth or cotton pad can be attached to the end of a back scratcher using a rubber band, which can hold the acne-fighting product on it. The product can then be applied easily to your back.
Certain acne products used to treat back acne can be irritating if used too frequently or in higher strengths. Benzoyl peroxide cream, for example, can cause irritation, redness, peeling or burning if used in strengths higher than 2.5 percent in concentration or more than twice per day. Use only the 2.5 percent benzoyl peroxide cream to avoid causing irritation to the back.
To prevent further breakouts to your back, try to avoid wearing tight-fitting clothing that could cause the pores of your back to become clogged. Apply one of the acne treatment products to your back at least two times per day to clear your back, and to maintain its clarity. Avoid applying acne treatment products to the delicate skin around the genitals, which can easily become irritated.
