Stevia is made from a shrub in South America called Stevia rebaudina and is also known as sweet herb and sweetleaf according to the University of Illinois. A water extract is taken from the leaves in order to produce the sweetener. Stevia is mostly grown in Asian and South American countries and has the approval of the Food and Drug Administration to be used as a natural sweetener. Stevia contains no calories and also does not have any adverse effects on the blood sugar levels of the consumer and only a tiny amount is required to sweeten items as well.

Sprite Green

Sprite Green is part of the reduced-calorie Sprite line extension that has naturally sweetened, reduced, low and zero-calorie beverages that uses the Truvia natural sweetener, the consumer name for Rebiana. It contains both stevia and rebaudioside-A and has 50 calories.

Celestial Seasonings Tea

A range of teas produced by Celestial Seasonings contains stevia leaves to reduce the amount of calories in them. The stevia naturally flavors the teas without the extra calories being added in. Some of the teas containing stevia include Acai Mango Iced Tea, Echinacea Complete Care, Powerfully Plum, White Tea Antioxidant Plum C, Tangerine Orange Sweet Zinger Ice Tea, Antioxidant Green Tea and Raspberry Iced Tea.

Sweetleaf Sweetener is a natural sweetener that includes 100 percent all natural stevia with no calories, carbohydrates or added chemicals. It comes in refined form and can be purchased in packets to easily add to your food. It has a delicious sweet flavor and has zero glycemic index as well to make your dishes healthier and with lesser calories. Sobe Lifewater

PepsiCo has introduced zero-calorie versions of Sobe Lifewater in three flavors: Yumberry Pomegranate, Fuji Apple Pear and Blackberry/Blueberry. Sobe Lifewater uses the PureVia brand of the Reb-A sweetener which has been made by the Whole Earth Sweetener Company and used by PepsiCo. Pepsi's press release reports that each bottle contains a full day's supply of vitamin C as well as 20 percent of the recommended daily value of vitamin E and 10 percent of the recommended value of vitamins B6, B12, niacin (B3) and pantothenic acid (B5). PureVia contains 97 percent pure rebaudioside-A.
