Most people get acne blemishes at some time in their lives. Although there are many chemical acne treatment products on the market, they often cause side effects on the skin, such as redness, peeling, itching and burning. Luckily, you can effectively treat acne blemishes by following a routine that utilizes natural skin treatments that will clear the skin without causing side effects.

Step 1

Cleanse the skin with a non-comedogenic oil, such as castor oil. Spread 1 tsp. of castor oil around your face, and use your fingers to massage the oil into your skin for three to four minutes. Soak a washcloth in nearly boiling water, then wring it out once it is cool enough to touch. Drape the washcloth over your face, and allow it to remain there until it cools down. Once its cool, use the washcloth to wipe away the oil from your face. Repeat twice per day in lieu of regular soap.

Step 2

Kill off acne-causing bacteria by applying an antibacterial oil, such as tea tree oil. Fill a bottle with 8 oz. of water, and add in five drops of tea tree oil. Mix well, and soak a cotton ball in the solution. Spread the tea tree oil solution around your skin, allowing it to soak in. Repeat twice per day after cleansing the skin with oil.

Step 3

Apply calamine lotion to the individual blemishes, which will dry up pus and bacteria. Soak the end of a cotton swab in calamine lotion, and apply the lotion to each blemish. Allow the calamine lotion to dry completely, and leave it on the skin for at least one hour. Rinse off the lotion with warm water. Repeat up to two times per day after applying tea tree oil.
