Soda bicarbonate, also known as sodium bicarbonate or baking soda, has a number of household uses, from eliminating odors in refrigerators or litter boxes, to cleaning teeth. Step 1

Put 1 tbsp. of baking soda into a bowl.

Add just enough warm water to make a paste.

Step 3

Wash your face with a mild cleanser and rinse with hot water. This will help open up pores for the baking soda treatment.

Step 4

Apply the sodium bicarbonate paste to your face and gently massage it into your skin with your fingertips, using gentle, circular motions. Be sure to cover the entire area that is affected with blackheads.

Step 5

Rinse the paste from your face with warm water. When all of the paste has been removed, do a final rinse with cool water.
