Quick Blackhead Removal
Blackheads are caused by hair follicles being plugged by oil or dead skin. Squeezing or picking blackheads can cause them to multiply or even permanently scar. Scrubbing aggressively using harsh soaps can cause the sebaceous glands to produce even more sebum (oil) and intensify the problem. Treating these outbreaks require you to open the pores and dissolve the excess oils. Make sure you wash daily with a mild soap to help prevent future blemishes.
Pour boiling water into a heat safe bowl and add the tea tree oil.
Place the towel over the bowl and your head, creating a tent. Keep your face at least three to four inches from the water to prevent a steam burn.
Steam your face for 10 minutes to allow the pores to open and dissolve oils. Dry your face by gently padding and allow to cool for a few minutes.
Remove Dead Skin and Draw Out Impurities
Place ground oatmeal into your hands and gently scrub face using a circular motion. Avoid the eye area. Scrub for no more than one minute. Rinse your face with lukewarm water.
Pour clay into a small bowl and add just enough water, one teaspoon at a time, to form a thick paste.
Cover your face, avoiding eye area, with the wet clay. Spread evenly and use just enough to cover. Allow mud to dry completely which can take 10 to 15 minutes.
Rinse the mud off using cool water. Wash gently with a mild soap and dry thoroughly with a soft towel. Pad dry, do not rub.
Apply lavender oil directly on skin to help heal and prevent any infection. Use sparingly.
