Proper Way to Remove Blackheads
Blackheads result when dead skin cells clog pores, keeping the skin's natural oil, or sebum, from flowing freely through them. When the oil clogging the pores oxidizes, the plug takes on its characteristic dark color. Using cosmetics, cleansers or moisturizers that contain excess oils can exacerbate a blackhead problem. Squeezing blackheads out using the fingernails can cause scarring, so it is important to remove them gently, using the proper tools. To prevent blackheads from forming, keep the skin as clean and oil-free as possible.
Wash your face with a gentle exfoliating cleanser to remove dead skin cells. You can also use regular cleanser with a washcloth or facial scrubbing sponge.
