How to Remove Skin Blackheads
Blackheads are a result of your skin's natural oil, or sebum, combining with dead skin cells and bacteria to clog your pores. Creamy facial cleansers are often oil-based, which can exacerbate formation of blackheads. There are plenty of natural home remedies for blackhead removal, which, when combined with a medicated cleanser, can be quite effective in clearing your blemishes and preventing new ones from forming. You can do an effective mini-spa facial at home for very little money.
Wash your face with warm water and a mild glycerin-based soap. Use a washcloth or facial sponge to gently exfoliate. Rinse your face well with warm water.
Boil a large pot of water on the stove and add five drops of tea tree oil. Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic and antibacterial agent that can help control oily skin and heal breakouts.
Fold a bath towel and lay it on your bathroom counter. Set the pot of boiling water on top of the towel and hold another bath towel over your head to create a tent. Lean over the pot and steam your skin for 10 to 15 minutes.
Slice the tomato in half with the knife and use your fingers to scoop out the pulp. Spread the pulp over your face, lie back, and allow your tomato "mask" to work for 15 minutes. The citric acid in the tomato can help draw out blackheads. Rinse with warm water.
Tear a tissue in half. Wrap one half around both of your index fingers and gently squeeze blackheads to the surface.
Wash once more with glycerin soap, massaging in a circular motion with your fingers. Rinse with cold water to close the pores.
Apply a salicylic acid toner with a clean tissue to help prevent new blackheads from forming.
