How to Remove Pimples & Blackheads
Aside from cluttering your clear skin with blemishes, acne can also be painful at times. Sebaceous oils can get trapped in the pores when too much is produced. When this trapped oil mixes with dead skin cells it's the perfect recipe for acne. The pores may remain open with the clogs just on the surface, forming blackheads, or they may close and produce pimples just above the surface of the skin. Fortunately there are several things you can do at home to get rid of both blackheads and pimples.
Steam your skin to unclog pores by covering your head with a towel and and holding it over hot steamy water for five to 10 minutes. Once the steam has softened the pores and the dirt trapped inside, use a flat blackhead remover to get rid of blackheads. Wash your skin with an antibacterial soap afterward.
Wash your skin daily to keep it clean. Be careful not to scrub too hard as this will irritate the skin further. Wash with a mild or antibacterial soap. Use warm water and rinse well. Gently pat your skin dry rather than rubbing to avoid irritating the skin.
Squeeze pimples that have a white head gently to break them open and remove what's inside. Do not squeeze pimples that don't have a white head as this will only irritate the area and can lead to scars.
Apply an acne lotion or cream that contains benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide is quite effective at killing bacteria as well as drying up oils. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on how much to use and how often.
Apply raw organic honey to your acne-affected skin daily to help naturally eliminate blemishes. Leave the honey on your skin for at least 15 minutes once a day to help get rid of pimples. Use a clean damp washcloth to get the honey off of your skin.
