How to Remove Blackheads and Pimples in Pores
Pimples and blackheads are caused by a buildup of oil underneath the surface of the skin. They result primarily from clogged pores on the skin's surface that are exacerbated by poor hygiene, makeup and excessive oil. Removing blackheads and pimples is necessary to keep skin clear and healthy. However, removing these blemishes requires specific procedures to avoid scarring the skin.
Wash your skin with a gentle noncomedogenic cleanser and warm water. Use a washcloth or your hands to work up a lather. Avoid loofahs or brushes that irritate the skin.
Rinse your face thoroughly with warm water and pat dry with a clean towel.
Center the loop of your blackhead remover over the blackhead and press down on the skin around the blackhead. With firm pressure the blackhead should emerge above the surface of the skin. If the blackhead does not come out easily, do not force it, because you could cause scarring.
Wash your skin with a gentle noncomedogenic cleanser and warm water, rinsing thoroughly to remove all the soap and oil.
Soak a washcloth in hot water and set it on the skin where the pimple is located. Leave the hot washcloth on the pimple for 10 minutes. The hot washcloth will steam the skin around the pimple and make it easier to pop.
Sterilize a needle by soaking it for one minute in rubbing alcohol.
Use the needle to gently poke the surface of the pimple.
Cover your fingers with pieces of tissue and apply gentle pressure to either side of the pimple. The pimple should emit a white discharge. If the pimple does not discharge, do not force it. Forcing a pimple that is not ready will result in scarring. Stop applying pressure if you see clear fluid or blood.
