How to Apply Jojoba Oil on the Face
Overview
Jojoba oil improves the quality of skin and naturally balances skin's pH, according to "Foundations of Nursing." Jojoba oil is extracted from jojoba seeds, which can be found in the jojoba plant that grows in America's western states. This oil is easy to use and can be purchased at health food stores.
Step 1
Cleanse your face using a mild facial cleanser. According to "Handbook of Dermatology: A Practical Manual," oil-free cleansers are typically the most mild and prepare skin best for jojoba oil treatment. Gently pat your face dry with a soft towel after cleansing.
Step 2
Hold a cotton ball with tweezers to avoid touching the cotton ball with your hands. Saturate the cotton ball with jojoba oil. According to "Braun-Falco's Dermatology," oils should never be applied with the hands because the oil can adhere to dirt and bacteria on the hands, and be transferred to the face.
Step 3
Massage the jojoba oil onto your face using the cotton ball as an applicator. Use gentle, circular motions to ensure that your face is adequately covered with jojoba oil. Avoid scrubbing the skin with the cotton ball, because according to "Cosmetic Dermatology: Principles and Practice," scrubbing can damage skin. If excess oil is left on the skin, gently wipe it off with a clean cotton ball.
