How to Eliminate Clogged Pores
Clogged pores lead to acne when they get stopped up with skin oil, dead cells and bacteria. This mixture causes inflammation that leads to pimples. You can vastly improve acne if you eliminate most of your clogged pores and prevent them from getting plugged in the future. This can be done easily with a simple skin care routine and an appropriate acne treatment product.
Purchase an over-the-counter acne treatment product containing either salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. The active ingredient will be listed on the package. Benzoyl peroxide dries oily skin and kills backteria, which reduces blockages.

Many skin and hair products contain oils that contribute to pore clogging. Noncomedogenic and water-based options do not contain ingredients that cause blockages.
Take a shower when you've been sweating or if you've been in an oily environment, the Nemours hospital Teens Health site advises. For example, you might be exposed to grease if you work in a restaurant. Sweat and environmental oils combine with natural skin oil to clog pores. A quick shower rinses them away before they can cause trouble.
