How to Clean Nose Pores
Pores exist all over your body's skin. For many people, they are most noticeable on the nose. Part of this is because the skin on your nose is usually tight, emphasizing your pores. But nose pores can also be visible because of the presence of blackheads. Blackheads are a product of your pores becoming blocked by oil and needing cleansing. However, general care for your pores can help keep your pores clean and functioning properly, reducing your risk of blackheads, acne and other skin problems.
Use a gentle skin cleanser on your skin. Scrub lightly when washing your nose. While scrubbing harder may succeed in removing dirt and other sediments, abrasive cleansing can also cause skin irritation and lead to acne breakouts. Use plant-based cleansers that lack the harsh chemicals that can damage your pores and skin, recommends the Daily Glow website.
Wash your skin once or twice daily. Clean your skin in the morning and before you go to bed at night. This keeps the oil from building up on your skin or in your pores. Do not wash your skin more than twice daily. Otherwise, you can dry out your skin and cause irritation.
Use blackhead strips on your skin to remove visible oil build-up in your pores. Blackhead strips are not always effective at removing the entire blackhead--many times they only tear out the black tip created from the oxidization of the oil--but some blackheads can be removed this way. Partially removed blackheads will make it easier for other skin treatments to penetrate deeper into the pore the first time around. Blackhead strips should be applied when the skin is still wet from washing the face. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for the strip to adhere to the skin.
Wash your nose with an exfoliating scrub two to three times a week to remove dead skin cells and oil. These can combine to keep oil close to the pore duct and cause blockages. Do not clean your skin more than three times a week. Excessive use of exfoliants can damage your skin and pores.
Apply salicylic acid to your skin to clean out your pores. Salicylic acid breaks down the oil excreted by your pores and can unblock clogged pores.
Apply toner to your skin after cleaning your nose. Toner helps seal pores after being cleaned, preventing contaminants from getting into your pores. Apply toner with a cotton ball, brushing it across the skin on your nose.
