How to Clean Blackheads How to Clean Blackheads

Overview

Blackheads can happen to people of all ages, and are caused by the pores becoming blocked with excess oil, sebum, dirt and bacteria. In order to get rid of blackheads, and keep them from returning, it is important to properly clean skin that is affected by blackheads. An olive oil facial flushes out the pores which are clogged with impurities, a natural exfoliant removes pore-clogging impurities from the surface of the skin, and an acidic juice high in vitamin C keeps the pores clean and clear by increasing skin cell turnover.

Step 1

Clean blackheads with an oil facial. Massage 1 tbsp. of olive oil onto the skin using small, circular motions with the fingers. After three minutes, pour 8 cups of boiling water into a bowl, and place it onto a flat surface. Drape a towel over your head, and lean 12 to 18 inches over the bowl. After five minutes, lift up the head and wipe off the oil with a washcloth. Repeat up to three times per week.

Step 2

Clean blackheads with a natural exfoliant. In a small bowl, combine 1 tbsp. of baking soda, 1 tbsp. of raw oats and 2 tbsp. of honey, mixing the substances well. Spread the mixture onto your skin, and move your fingers in circular movements. After two to three minutes, rinse off the exfoliant with warm water. Repeat up to three times per week.

Step 3

Clean blackheads with an acidic toner. Soak a cotton pad in concentrated lemon juice, and spread the juice around the face. Let the juice dry onto the skin after it has been cleansed or exfoliated. Repeat up to three times per week.
