Homemade Blackhead Scrub
Blackheads are a type of acne called comedones, which occur when hair follicles become clogged with dirt, oil and bacteria. When the oil or bacteria is exposed to air, it turns black, resulting in acne that can be embarrassing and difficult to cover. Acne treatments and medicated scrubs can be expensive and cause side effects such as dry skin. However, you can also make blackhead scrubs at home using natural and effective exfoliating ingredients.
Put 1 tbsp. radish seeds into a food processor. Grind the seeds into small pieces.
Add water, 1/2 tsp. at a time, to the seeds until a thick paste forms. You will need approximately 1 tbsp. of water, but more or less may be needed depending on how finely you have ground the radish seeds.
Scrub the paste onto your skin for one minute using small, circular motions.
Rinse the paste away using cool water.
Pour 1/4 cup oatmeal into a bowl. You can also use cornmeal or baking soda. All three ingredients have exfoliating properties that remove dead skin cells and bacteria from pores.
Add water, 1 tbsp. at a time, to the bowl until a paste forms. You will need approximately 1/4 cup of water.
Apply the mixture to your skin and scrub for one minute.
Rinse the mixture off thoroughly.
Put 1 tbsp. of almonds into a food processor. Grind them into fine crumbs.
Add 1 tbsp. honey to the almonds and mix them together thoroughly.
Scrub the mixture onto your skin for one minute before rinsing it away.
