Homemade Blackhead Mask
Blackheads are a result of trapped sebum, dead skin cells and bacteria that are in your pores. When they are exposed to the outside air, they turn black or brown in color, hence the name blackhead. Squeezing this nuisance can push the blockage further into the pore, causing infection. A homemade blackhead removal mask is safer and easier. All you have to do is look inside your fridge for the ingredients to whip up this blackhead treatment.
Gather all the ingredients, two small mixing bowls and a spoon. A wooden spoon is ideal for this recipe. Make sure that everything is within easy reach.
Measure 1/2 cup of lemon juice. Add the lemon juice and four drops of lavender oil to the bowl. Lavender oil can be found in many health food and beauty supply stores. Mix together thoroughly.
Add 1 tsp. of room-temperature butter and mix, slowly adding 1/2 cup of crushed oats. Fold ingredients into each other, making sure that there are no dry oats at the bottom of the bowl.
Grate one apple into a separate bowl, and set aside.
Add 1 tbsp. of salt to the mixture and 4 tbsp. of grated apple. Fold these ingredients into the mixture, making sure that it is completely mixed together with the other ingredients.
Smooth the mixture on your face or where blackheads tend to form. You may use a cosmetic spatula or your hands. If applying with your hands, thoroughly wash them first.
Leave the mask on for several minutes. When it is completely dry, wash off your face with lukewarm water and pat it dry. Hot water overdries the skin, so avoid hot water when washing the mask off.
