Though many people think acne is just for teens, the American Academy of Dermatology estimates that more than 40 million Americans will suffer from acne within a single year---that includes grown-ups. Water

Natural remedy or no, filtered water is essential to maintaining skin health and is the best thing you can do when treating the skin for anything. At optimum health, the skin can better fight any infection and have stronger healing abilities, plus water washes toxins away from the skin that can cause acne. A deficiency in zinc can also cause acne, as can deficiencies in vitamins A, B-2, B-3 and B-6. Vitamins A, B-1, C, E and zinc are all antioxidants that help build the immune system and fight free radicals in your body that can cause acne or worse.

Irritants

Many irritants can cause acne. Sweat left on the skin without washing, wearing clothing items that rub and don't enable the skin to breathe, and wearing items that constantly rub the skin, such as backpacks, can all cause what's called "acne mechanica," which literally means acne caused by irritants.
