Daily Basic Cranberry-Lemon Cleanser
Put 2 tbsp. of dried savory leaves in 1 cup of hot distilled water and 1/4 cup lemon juice allowing to steep for approximately 20 minutes. Strain, saving the liquid. Savory leaves are antimicrobial, and may encourage a thorough skin cleanse while regulating oil production. Although savory leaves show medicinal qualities, more evidence is necessary for its effectiveness on acne-prone skin. Separate the liquid by using a strainer and place it in a glass jar. Cover and refrigerate the tonic until cool.
Soak a cotton pad with the tonic and apply evenly over the face and neck. Let it dry. Use this facial tonic everyday following your daily cleanser in both the mornings and before you go to sleep.
Lavender Facial Steaming
Fill a pot with 10 cups of distilled water and 10 drops of lavender oil. The Drug Information website states that lavender oil is a natural antifungal and antibacterial. It may aid in the removal of impurities and debris deep within the pores associate with acne. It's influence on acne-prone skin, however, still lacks the necessary scientific evidence to illustrate effectiveness.
