What Juices Cure Acne? What Juices Cure Acne?

Turning fruits and vegetables into juice can be an effective way to extract all their vital minerals and vitamins. Whether applied externally or ingested, fruit and vegetable juices contain different enzymes, vitamins and minerals that neutralize acids and have antibacterial effects. All are effective in treating acne, but--in many cases--they are probably not a cure for acne.

Lemon Juice

The Natural Home Remedies website recommends the use of products that contain lemon juice as their base as a way to combat acne. According to the website, lemon juice is effective at absorbing excess oils on the skin and keeping the skin clean, both essential factors in preventing acne. The website also recommends cleaning your face with an actual lemon every four to five hours for the first few days of your treatment. Randall Neustaedter, OMD, of the Cure Guide website, recommends applying freshly squeezed lemon juice to the skin using a cotton ball, letting it dry for 10 minutes and then washing it off with cold water.

Carrot Juice

Carrots contain carotenoids and have a high content of beta-carotene and vitamin A, which have a cleansing effect and are great for the skin, according to the Quick Acne Remedy website. The minerals contained in vegetables, including carrots, help to keep your body's acidity level balanced, which in itself can help fight acne, according to the website Health Guidance.

Wheatgrass Juice

According to the website Natural Legacy, wheatgrass juice is one of the most popular and effective natural acne remedies. The more nutrients our bodies absorb, the healthier we become, according to the Tea Benefits website. Many of the nutrients and enzymes found in wheatgrass help to cleanse our bodies of toxins, some of which contribute to acne.

Apple Juice

Apple juice mixed with 1 tsp. of honey is a helpful remedy. Applying the juice externally at least twice per day can dry up acne and treat acne scars, according to the Natural Beauty Care Guide website.

Cherry Juice

Cherry juice is an alkalizer. It also contains many minerals that are healthy for the skin, according to the Deep Fitness website. Its alkalinity neutralizes acid waste in the blood, which otherwise would be forced out through the skin, causing acne.
