According to the National Institutes of Health's Office of Dietary Supplements, males 14 years of age and older should consume 14mg of zinc daily. Girls between the ages of 14 and 18 should consume 9mg, and women over 18 should consume 8mg of zinc per day. Zinc is found in oysters, beans, nuts, red meat and poultry.

Copper

Copper peptides in lotions can help smooth skin made rough by acne and acne scars, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center. As an added bonus, it also helps fight wrinkles and other signs of premature aging. Copper supplements are available, but many people find they induce nausea and cause a number of other unpleasant side effects. For a milder approach, try a facial lotion or sun block that contains copper.
