The Fastest Way to Get Rid of Blackheads
Overview
Removing blackheads requires a gentle hand. Scrubbing aggressively or picking can cause them to multiply or get infected. The Mayo Clinic suggests using a cream that contains salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide daily to help speed healing time. You should wash your face twice a day to remove excess oil, dirt and sweat to help prevent future breakouts. Quickly removing them requires a gentle wash using a mild soap and warm water to open pores, a clay mask to draw out debris and a medicated cream.
Step 1
Using very warm water to open pores, gently wash your face with a mild soap. Gently exfoliate by scrubbing with a soft washcloth then rinse your skin off.
Step 2
Pour the clay into the cup and add just enough water to make a thick paste. Add only a spoonful of water at a time and stir. Apply the mask over your entire face, or only on the problem area. Allow it to dry thoroughly as it will pull out blockages and absorb excess oils. Rinse off completely with warm water.
Step 3
Dry your face gently. Apply the medicated cream according to the manufacturer's directions. Avoid sensitive areas such as your skin around the eyes.
