Jojoba oil is actually a wax, one of a few that comes from plant sources. This oil is so similar to the natural oil---sebum---in your skin that it supplements your body's natural production of oil. it penetrates the outer layer of your skin, so it does not leave your skin greasy. The Alive website states that jojoba oil is a rich source of vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps your skin fend off signs of aging. It also contains important fatty acids, according to the alternative medicine information website Alt MD. The zinc, B-vitamins, silica and copper in jojoba oil help the skin on your face stay supple and healthy.

Makeup Remover

Use jojoba oil as a gentle, effective makeup remover. Put a few drops on a cotton ball. Use it to gently remove blush, foundation and eye makeup. Discard the cotton ball when you finish. Do not remove traces of the jojoba oil that remain on your skin since it will continue to moisturize your face overnight.

Face Moisturizer

Jojoba oil is an effective facial skin moisturizer. Apply it to freshly cleaned skin at night and leave it overnight to rejuvenate your skin while you sleep. You only need to apply a few drops, according to Care2.com. Use your fingertips to rub the oil into your skin, starting at the neck. Work your way upward and cover your entire face. If you prefer, add a few drops of jojoba oil to your regular moisturizer and apply them together.

Lip Balm

Your lips are the only part of your face that do not make their own oil. Use jojoba oil to keep them moist by applying a drop of oil each morning. Reapply the oil during the day, as needed.

Mix jojoba oil with beeswax and essential oils to make a personalized lip balm. The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics has a simple recipe on its DIY cosmetics page. You will need 3 tbs. of beeswax, 5 tsp. of jojoba oil, 1 tsp. of honey and six to seven drops of an essential oil. The recipe suggests lime, grapefruit or peppermint.

Wrinkle Treatment

Combine jojoba oil with essential oils to treat wrinkles, using this simple recipe from the Third Age website. Mix 30 drops of jojoba oil with 10 drops of neroli oil, 10 drops of lavender oil, 10 drops of glycerin oil and 60 drops of castor oil. Massage your oil into your neck and face nightly. This is especially good for wrinkles and around your eyes.
