Benzoyl peroxide produces swelling and the raised area may be filled with liquid. It is not necessary that benzoyl peroxide produce this condition in all acne patients.

Rash:
It may produce mild to severe rash depending upon its response by an individual. If you are having rash, do not use it any longer and report to your dermatologist about the condition you has developed.

Red Spots:
Red spots or bumps are the symptoms of a serious skin disorder caused by allergic effects to certain medications and dietary substances. If you are having such disorder, do not wait and rush to your physician.

Aggravation in Acne:
Even if you are using it for the treatment of acne and you are allergic to benzoyl peroxide, it may aggravate acne. Just stop taking the drug further and you will be normal in a few days.

Degeneration of Epidermis:
Benzoyl peroxide directly affects on keratin, a protein that builds outer most layer of skin. Thus, in most people it not only removes outer most dead skin layer, but also degenerates the epidermis.

Why benzoyl peroxide is used?
Benzoyl peroxide is an antioxidant and can be used for various skin disorders, diseases and skin ailments such as acne, warts, rash and other common to severe disorders.

Although benzoyl peroxide is effective remedy for the treatment of various common to severe skin disorders, it has a variety of side effects such as red spots, rash, crusting and degeneration.
