Review of Zeno Acne Treatments
Zeno Acne Treatments claim to eliminate painful pimples, called pustules, by blasting heat into the pimple, which kills the bacteria inside of it. Although they can be pricier than other acne medications, Zeno Acne Treatments were approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and reportedly have a 90 percent success rate when used as directed, according to Discovery Health.
Zeno Acne Treatments include two separate products: a blemish prevention kit called Heat Treat and a blemish clearing device called Hot Spot. According to Zeno.com, Heat Treat helps massage heat into the pores to kill bacteria, whereas Hot Spot uses a heated device to eliminate preexisting acne.
Zeno's Hot Spot device is held against the pimple for two and a half minutes while it delivers a concentrated blast of heat, approximately 118 degrees Fahrenheit, into the pimple. The company recommends repeating the process once or twice in the following 24 hours to clear bacteria from the pimple.
Zeno's blemish-clearing device Hot Spot retails for $39.99, as does the blemish prevention kit. Blemish prevention cream can also be purchased separately for $11.99 each.
Zeno products are available for purchase on their website, MyZeno.com, or online on Amazon.com, Beauty.com and Skinstore.com. Zeno is also available in select retail stores, including CVS Pharmacy, Rite Aid, Harmon Discount, Meijer, Duane Reade, Bartell Drugs, Walmart, Target and Ulta Beauty.
Zeno is only designed to treat pustules, hard formations that form under the surface of the skin. This type of pimple is often red, swollen or looks inflamed.
