Review of Neutragena Oil Free Acne Wash

Review of Neutragena Oil Free Acne Wash

Overview

According to Neutrogena, the brand's Oil-Free Acne Wash is the number one dermatologist-recommended acne-fighting cleanser. The formula contains two percent salicylic acid, the highest concentration available over the counter, to treat and prevent acne breakouts and soothing ingredients to help prevent dryness and irritation.

About Salicylic Acid

Salicylic acid is a type of hydroxy acid that removes the outer layer of skin, a naturally-occurring process that slows down with age. Hydroxy acids speed exfoliation to clear away dead skin cells, which can build up and cause acne breakouts, uneven texture and sallow skin.

Benefits

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash helps clear and prevent acne breakouts and claims to clean deep into pores. The formula is free of oil and residue and is non-comedogenic, meaning it won't clog pores.

Application

Wet face and pump product into hands. Add water and work into a lather, massaging gently over face, then rinse thoroughly. Use the product twice daily.

Considerations

It's important to use caution when using a product containing salicylic acid because of its potentially irritating properties. Be careful to avoid contact with eyes and if dryness or irritation develops, use product less frequently.
