Remedy for Acne
Acne is a skin condition characterized by open lesions. It occurs when the pores become blocked by excess oil, which causes the pores to become inflamed and erupt into pustules. Bacteria that live on the skin can make acne worse and contribute to the pore blockage. A remedy for acne can work by opening the pores directly or eradicating the bacteria that aggravate acne. Common remedies for acne include good skin hygiene and acne medication.
Wash your face. Keep your skin clean. Wash your skin with a mild liquid soap twice per day. Rinse the soap thoroughly with warm water. You may also need to wash your skin after exercise. It's important not to wash your skin excessively, as this can dry your skin.
Perform a chemical peel. Apply the chemical peel to your skin for the period of time specified in the instructions before removing it. A home chemical peel can remove the dead skin cells on the surface of your skin, which can help keep your pores clear.
Slice open a lemon with a knife. Squeeze the juice into a bowl. Add a cup of water and soak a washcloth in the diluted lemon juice. Apply this solution to your acne for few minutes each day. The lemon juice lightens skin that has been discolored by acne.
Apply astringent to dry out the oily parts of your skin. It's important to use astringent sparingly, as it can dry out your skin too much and cause it to become inflamed.
Apply acne medication to your skin. A wide variety of acne medication is available, but benzoyl peroxide is typically the active ingredient. Benzoyl peroxide releases oxygen into the pores to inhibit the growth of bacteria that can aggravate acne.
