According to the Vitamin & Nutrition Center, it has been proven that a symptom of deficiency in the following vitamins causes acne: vitamin A, vitamin B2, vitamin B3, vitamin B6 and the mineral zinc. Zinc is one of the most powerful antioxidants, and the Mayo Clinic recommends taking zinc supplements. Zinc not only provides a strong boost to the immune system, it also contains strong anti-inflammatory properties. Increasing organic foods containing the following vitamins or increasing supplements for vitamins A, B-complex (including B1, B2, B3, B5 and B6), C, E and zinc will help to fight acne from the inside out.
