Every year, approximately 17 million people suffer from the skin condition known as acne, according to Brown University's health services. Even acne-prone skin needs moisturizing, especially if you're treating your skin with a drying anti-acne product, but be careful to avoid oil-based lotions that may clog your pores and make your acne worse.

Aveda Outer Peace Acne Relief Lotion

This salicylic acid-enhanced moisturizer from Aveda helps treat zits while drying to a smooth, matte appearance, says skincare expert Paula Begoun. Various herbal extracts, like saw palmetto, help to nourish and feed your skin, while the moisturizers plump up your skin's appearance. Several of the ingredients listed on its label are certified organic.

Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup

Moisturize your skin while simultaneously concealing blemishes with Clinique's oil-free foundation for acne-prone skin. The product earned a recommendation from Real Simple magazine's beauty editors for its acne-fighting and concealing effect. It's ideal for dry to very oily skin and also helps soothe away redness for less prominent pimples.

Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion, Oil-Free Formula

The enhanced glycolic acid-formulated moisturizer from Alpha Hydrox comes in an oil-free formula. It features glycolic acid at a strength of 10%, making it "excellent" for oily skin, according to Begoun. As the lotion moisturizes, its acids also accelerate your skin cells' exfoliation rate. This can improve your natural luminosity while helping to fade blemishes like skin discolorations or acne scars.

Biore Restore Skin-Boosting Night Serum

Biore's night moisturizer is based on silicone and water, and Begoun writes that it will leave your skin feeling "unbelievably silky." She also liked its "hefty" levels of green tea leaf extract, known as a potent antioxidant for conditioning your skin and helping to prevent aging symptoms like wrinkles.
