Vitamin A:
Vitamin A is necessary for healing of skin. The recommended dose is about 25,000 units twice a day. The acne typically returns several months after natural vitamin A is discontinued. Be careful in taking vitamin A as over dosage would be dangerous.

Vitamin B:
studies shows that vitamin B5 is very beneficial for acne and vitamin B6 benefit premenstrual acne. Maximum 10 grams of vitamin B5 is a large amount and 50 mg of vitamin B6 is good enough for acne sufferers.

Zinc:
Zinc aids in healing of tissue and assists in preventing scarring. Zinc is one mineral that has shown to benefit acne in a scientific study. It also acts as a barrier against germs and bacteria to prevent inflammation and infection. Take 50 mg of zinc with 5 mg of copper everyday. Do not exceed this dosage as It can be harmful if you exceed 100 mg.

Omega 3 fatty acids:
Omega 3 fatty acid helps in maintaining healthy cell membrane and ensure the normal transport of nutrients into cells. It has anti bacterial and anti inflammatory qualities. Most nutritional supplements for acne contain omega-3 in small amounts. One tablespoon per day is enough amount.

Above all are important vitamins and mineral for acne sufferers. Before taking these supplements it is necessary to discuss with your doctor. He will suggest you right supplement according to your skin condition and treatment as some may interfere with your treatments. But it does not mean that fresh fruits and vegetables are not necessary any more in presence of supplements. Fresh fruits and vegetables have their own value.
