Body acne can be successfully treated with some simple natural treatments, but always consult with your doctor before using any home remedy for a medical condition.

Clean Environment

Maintaining a clean environment around the acne is an important part in treating body acne naturally. Wear clean, loose clothing made of a breathable material such as cotton. Wash your sheets at least once a week to prevent a buildup of oil and dirt. If you have long hair that reaches the shoulders or lower, keep it clean and away from the acne-prone skin.

Washing

Washing should be timed to occur immediately following rigorous exercise and sweating. Sweat can pool on the skin with collected dirt and oil, resulting in acne. Wash with a mild cleanser that won’t leave a residue or irritate the skin, and avoid overwashing. Do not wash the skin more than twice per day; cleansing more than that can irritate the skin and cause adverse effects.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is a proven natural treatment for acne. It contains antibacterial properties that kill the acne-causing bacteria. According to the Mayo Clinic, tea tree oil has been proven to be just as effective as benzoyl peroxide, an ingredient found in most over-the-counter acne treatments. Apply tea tree oil directly to the acne before going to sleep and rinse it off in the morning. You can also find it in most natural acne treatments.

Zinc

The Mayo Clinic also recommends taking zinc supplements to treat acne naturally. Take zinc supplements with a proper diet to boost your immune system and help reduce inflammation of acne. Zinc is a powerful antioxidant that also helps the skin tissues heal and prevents scarring. According to Vitamins-Nutrition.org, zinc also helps prevent acne by regulating the oil glands. Acne can even be a sign of a zinc deficiency.

Avoid Irritations

Avoid wearing anything that will constantly rub against the skin and prevent it from breathing properly. Backpacks are a common cause of back acne. Pay attention to where the acne is, and notice if there’s anything you do throughout the day that rubs and irritates the skin.
