How to Wash Your Face With Jojoba Oil
Overview
Jojoba oil is a wax ester that is similar to the natural oil produced by skin. This botanical extract has a number of potential benefits. According to the website Acne.org, jojoba oil can moisturize, help balance oil production and will not irritate eyes. No scientific evidence indicates jojoba oil works effectively as a cleanser, but the natural antioxidant action of the compound may work to repair skin and remove excess oil, dirt and makeup from the face.
Step 1
Add one or two drops of jojoba oil to a cotton ball, then slide the ball over your face. Jojoba oil will not irritate dry areas and is hypoallergenic. Cleanse all areas, including around the eyes, with the oil. This initial cleansing is to remove makeup and surface residue from skin.
Step 2
Wash face normally with a mild cleanser, then pat dry with a towel. This second cleansing is to remove excess oil and dead skin cells.
Step 3
Apply a small amount of moisturizing lotion or cream to the palm of your hand. Add six drops of jojoba oil to the cream and mix with your finger.
Step 4
Rub this mixture onto both hands and massage onto the face. Cover all areas thoroughly.
Step 5
Repeat the process twice a day.
