How to Use Tomato Oil for Anti-Acne Skin Care
The oil and juice of a tomato can help to heal and prevent acne. A tomato has cooling properties and also acts as an astringent, removing bacteria and shrinking pores. Its acidic properties also help to get rid of oil that clogs pores and hair follicles. Tomato oil also contains vitamin C and vitamin A, which help to brighten dull skin, reduce the appearance of acne scars and increase overall skin health. A tomato can be pureed, juiced or mashed and then combined with other ingredients for maximum benefit.
Blend one whole tomato in a blender until smooth.
Spread the tomato on your skin, covering areas affected by acne with a thick layer of the pureed tomato.
Rinse the tomato away with cool water after 20 minutes.
Juice a tomato using a juicer.
Mix 1 tbsp. of tomato juice with 3 drops of lime juice. Lime juice can be found bottled at grocery stores.
Apply the tomato and lime juice mixture to your face with a cotton ball.
Rinse the juices away with cool water after 15 minutes.
Mash one medium tomato and one medium avocado together.
Apply the mixture to the skin that is affected by acne. The avocado adds moisturizing and nourishing properties to the mixture.
Rinse the mashed tomato and avocado away after 30 minutes.
