How to Take Herbs to Get Rid of Acne
Various natural remedies can be used to treat acne. Some of these herbs include lemon and burdock. Lemon makes a beneficial cleansing agent for problem skin due to its antiseptic and anti-bacterial properties, while Burdock helps clear skin of pimples because of its strong antibacterial and anti-fungal properties.
Buy between two and three lemons. Store in refrigerator. Slice one or two lemons in half. Using a juicer, squeeze lemons into a glass.
Using a cotton swab, apply lemon juice directly to acne, or for more sensitive skin, dilute by mixing with water. Use lemon juice treatment before bed or as a morning treatment.
Use lemon slices in tea or ice water. Drink up to eight glasses daily.
Buy Burdock as capsules or dried root at a health food store, or consult alocal herbalist. The herb is widely distributed in the United States. Between one and two capsules can be taken daily.
For dried root treatment, steep between two and six grams of root into 150 milliliters of boiling water and allow water to boil for 15 minutes. Strain and drink. Acne sufferers can have up to three drinks per day.
Soak a clean cloth in boiled dried root mix. Wait until the cloth cools, then wrap it over the affected skin or acne. Allow treatment to soak into skin for between 10 and 15 minutes. Do not use topically on open wounds.
Use Burdock to make tea. Steep between two and six grams of dried root into about 500 milliliters of water. Drink three times daily.
