Overview

Acne and skin blemishes are caused by oils, sebum, bacteria and other impurities clogging the pores. Acne and blemishes are commonly treated with over-the-counter skin products, which clear skin but can also cause severe irritation, such as redness, peeling or burning. Luckily, acne and blemishes can be effectively treated using natural treatments, which can clear the skin without damaging it. These treatments are designed to flush out the pores, remove dead skin and impurities that could clog the skin and kill off acne-causing bacteria inside the pores.

Step 1

Apply a pore-flushing oil cleanser. Spread 1 tbsp. castor oil onto your skin, and use your fingers to massage the oil deeply into the pores. After three minutes, fill a bowl with boiling water, and lean about 18 inches over the bowl. Cover your head with a towel, and allow the steam to billow over your face for at least five minutes. Lift your head, and wipe off the oil with a wet washcloth. Repeat two times per day.

Step 2

Apply a skin scrub that will remove impurities that could block the pores and cause blemishes, such as dead skin cells or sebum. Pour 1 tbsp. baking soda into a bowl, and drizzle 1 tsp. water into it. Mix the two substances well, and spread the mixture onto your skin. Use your fingers to massage the baking soda mixture around your face for two minutes. Rinse your skin well with warm water. Repeat two times per day after cleansing the skin.

Step 3

Apply tea tree oil to the active acne breakouts, which can kill off the bacteria in the skin that cause acne. Dip a cotton swab into pure tea tree oil; then dip it again into water to dilute it slightly. Apply the diluted tea tree oil to the active acne spots, allowing it to soak into the skin. Repeat two times per day after exfoliating the skin.
