How to Reduce Large Pores
Large pores on your face can make you long for the smooth-faced look that is depicted on billboards and in magazine advertisements. While there is no proven way to drastically and permanently reduce your pore size, you can do some things at home to help reduce large pores so that they are less noticeable or tighter. Genetics is your biggest opponent in your fight against large pores, and even if you can't get rid of them completely, you can shrink them so they aren't as noticeable.
Exfoliate your skin at least once per week. Dead skin cells can make pores look larger; making sure that your skin is exfoliated reveals tighter, cleaner skin underneath, according to TheBeautyBrains.com
Adopt a nightly cleansing ritual. Excessive oil and dirt can cause blackheads or darkened, enlarged pores. Making sure that you use a cleaning, non-drying soap along with a toner can help keep pores clean and looking smaller over time. This will also ward off bacterial growth, acne and blackheads.
Begin a skin-care regimen that involves moisturizing, and if you're older than 30, an anti-aging cream. Skin loses elasticity as you age, causing skin to sag and pores to look larger. Starting at a younger age to preserve skin by moisturizing it and staying out of the harmful rays of the sun can keep your skin looking younger and your pores looking smaller.
Run an ice cube over your face when your pores are looking especially large. The cold will cause your skin to contract temporarily, resulting in temporarily smaller pores. This is a good trick to employ first thing in the morning, or right before you have a picture taken to make your pores appear smaller.
Apply a primer before you put your makeup on. While foundation can sink into pores and even make them look more pronounced, a primer smooths the surface of the skin so that the rest of your makeup can go on flawlessly, and your large pores are virtually invisible.
