How to Reduce Acne on the Face
Acne is a condition that's difficult to hide, especially when it's on your face. Makeup may help mask the redness but isn't entirely effective. Though acne may seem to be a formidable opponent, with the right information, you can reduce acne with minimal effort.
Wash your face twice daily with an acne-specific soap. Read and follow all manufacturers' instructions carefully. Rinse your face well, and pat your skin dry with a soft absorbent dry towel. Avoid rubbing your face with the towel, which may irritate the skin.
Mix uncooked plain oatmeal with water until it becomes a thick paste, and apply it to your face. Leave the mask on your face for at least 20 minutes. Remove the oatmeal mask with a clean damp cloth. Doing this twice weekly can help improve your complexion.
Apply sunscreen and makeup that are water-based. Oils found in makeup and sunscreen can contribute to clogging pores and creating more pimples. Read labels before applying substances to your skin.
Pull your hair off your skin so that the oils from your hair can't transfer to your face. Change your pillowcase every couple of days for the same reason. Avoid touching your face with your fingers.
Drink at least eight glasses of water daily to keep hydrated. Avoid easting processed foods and sugars that have no significant nutritional value. Eat more fresh fruits, vegetables and lean meats as well as foods high in zinc, L-carnatine and vitamin A to help improve your skin.
